The Citadel platform buildings

Our buildings are constructed on the Citadel platform, which is universal for the numerous variants of our buildings. This allows us to produce, deliver, assemble and commission durable, comfortable, energy-efficient and, most importantly, safe buildings in any region of the world in a short time.

Our buildings have unique characteristics in terms of protection from all types of natural disasters (floods, hurricanes, earthquakes, extreme temperatures, etc.). They have variable sizes and can be connected by walkways into big complexes if necessary.

The Citadel dome building is a quick-assembly, universal construction kit that can be assembled by people who do not even have much experience in construction and without the use of special heavy construction equipment.


About the Citadel platform

The Citadel platform is a common set of solutions — design, production and construction — that are formulated to create different models of buildings, different classes, different sizes and for different purposes. The platform allows buildings to be upgraded during operation using the same solutions (to increase the area, connect buildings to each other, etc.).


The main idea of this approach is that engineers do not need to recalculate each time, and production does not need to manufacture key power elements of the frame, nodal solutions. The unified framework is ready in advance, which allows you to save money and time when creating a set of all building elements, reducing the time of its delivery and assembly. The platform also helps to minimize scraps and waste during production, using durable and recyclable eco-friendly materials. The production process is optimized for mass production of unified elements with maximum automation. The assembly kit takes up minimal space, which is cost-effective for transportation around the world, including by air transport to hard-to-reach regions. The structural elements are designed to be assembled DIY without lifting equipment.

For the consumer, our innovative platform enables the maximum adaptability of the building to the required application in any climate and the possibility of upgrading buildings even during operation.

The difference between buildings on the Citadel platform and other types of buildings

The building is based on a quick-assembly power frame made of variable metals and composites: aluminum. steel, stainless steel, and other like materials.

We recommend using aluminum when possible. For example, the weight of the frame for one building with an area of 36-40 square meters is only 600 kilograms.

At the same time, aluminum has a number of advantages:

⁻ durability of more than 100 years,

⁻ resistant to moisture, corrosion and insects,

⁻ ease of transportation and assembly without the use of special construction equipment,

⁻ the low mass of the building and its elements reduces the danger to human life during strong earthquakes,

⁻ the low weight of the frame allows you to use a cheaper foundation option, special supports without a rigid connection to the ground provide better stability of the building in case of earthquakes due to its low weight and special damping elements,

⁻ the low weight of the frame allows you to use a cheaper pontoon for the floating version,

⁻ eco-friendly and recyclable material,

⁻ always very accurate size

 

The patented dome-shaped structure has many advantages over traditional rectangular and other well-known domed buildings - protection from all types of natural disasters: floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, snow storms. The unique aerodynamic shape makes it possible to effectively withstand hurricane-force winds while preventing the formation of strong eddy currents and low-pressure zones downwind, reducing the windage of the building. Other features include:

Buildings can be either stationary or temporary without anchoring in the

ground.

⁻          Unique expressive and spectacular appearance,

⁻          Free layout and the ability to change the wall cladding during operation. For

example, to replace a blank wall with a garage door or panoramic glazing.


Temporary cladding of the building

In case of urgent need, for the rapid deployment of shelters, we can offer temporary covering of the building with an awning covering. Then it can be replaced with stationary, durable and energy-efficient enclosing elements of a normal building.


Wall cladding elements

The main unified elements of the building's exterior cladding are panels measuring 600x2800mm or 600x3000mm, which makes it easier to transport and install elements with the participation of a minimum number of people and without using special heavy machinery.

Each panel element is a multilayer structure with a frame made of lightweight and durable aluminum profile, along the perimeter of which there are several levels of hydro- and thermal insulation seal made of EPDM. This makes it possible to quickly mount the cladding elements on the power frame of buildings using special fasteners, forming a very airtight, durable and stable building shell. The power aluminum frame can have a thermal break to increase energy efficiency.

Unlike sheet metal and profiled sheet, which are often used on walls and roofs of buildings (during disasters, such sheets of metal are very dangerous and often injure people with their sharp cutting edges), our panels are stable and safe and buoyant.

The exterior cladding panel of the building is variable. It can be aluminum or steel sheets, large-format ceramic plate, fiber cement panel, moisture-resistant plywood with fire protection coating, prefabricated aluminum profile panel, HPL composite panel and/or other durable sheet materials available in the region. Additional installation of thick metal sheets is also possible to increase the protection of the building shell, for example, in places where rockfalls and other dynamic impacts are frequent.

The coating of the building's interior panels is also varible. It can be aluminum or steel sheet, large-format ceramic plate, fiber cement panel, moisture-resistant plywood with fire protection coating, prefabricated aluminum profile panel, HPL composite panel and other durable sheet materials. We recommend eco-friendly and durable HPL panels in various colors and textures.

The glazing can be made with energy-efficient, double-glazed windows on an aluminum frame, similar to the paneling panels. We recommend safety tempered glass with special energy-efficient coatings. The glazing area of the building is also variable. The building can be completely glass.

The insulation between the inner and outer panels can vary, but we recommend PIR, PU or XPS, which are not afraid of moisture and are very durable. The insulation can be brought to the installation site as part of the finished panel, or sprayed at the assembly site, if necessary, to reduce the transport volume.


Enclosing structures and furniture

A great advantage of our buildings is that the internal partitions and furniture are easily integrated into the main power frame of the building through special fasteners. These can be transformable partitions, doors, and other furniture elements. The layout is easy to change during the operation of the building.

The use of the main supporting frame for furniture installation makes it possible to greatly reduce its cost, reduce the volume and weight for transportation, and reduce the installation time. For example, to install shelves or benches against the walls, side elements are not needed, it is enough to hang furniture elements to the power frame of the building. It also simplifies the cleaning of rooms and eliminates the dangerous fall of furniture and objects during earthquakes.

The tilt of the walls is also not accidental, it reduces the likelihood of things falling off the wall shelves, and also increases the volume and effective area of the room. So, with a floor area of 36 square meters, at a height of 750mm from the floor, the building area increases to 50 square meters, and at a height of 2,450mm to 75 square meters, which gives space for storage areas. And this is without much increase in the cost of construction.


Lighting and power supply

Slots can be provided in the power frame for laying electrical cables, wires and fire alarm sensors; as well as video surveillance; allowing for maintenance and replacement, if necessary.

Strip LED lighting can be immediately integrated into the power frame of the building, and any luminaires can also be mounted to it. Thermal dissipation through the building frame will provide heat removal from the fixtures and increase their service life.

The building is optimized for the installation of solar panels on the roof, while the solar power plant will be able to fully provide the building with lighting without external power supply in the presence of rechargeable batteries and a low-power backup generator with liquid fuel.


Ventilation and heating

The domed shape of the building provides easy, efficient air exchange and ventilation, as well as easy integration of electric heating systems.


Condensation of water from the air

If the air humidity is above 50 percent, the building complex can be equipped with a system for condensing clean drinking water from the air, while the electrical energy for this installation can come from solar panels.

The roof shape of the building has been optimized for rainwater collection, which will be sufficient for toilets and watering plants.

Depending on the region of operation of the building, the thickness of the insulation layer and the characteristics of the glazing can be selected individually. At the same time, we can provide the world's highest indoor temperature comfort in any climate range from minus 60 to plus 60 degrees Celsius with minimal energy consumption.
